Where sustainability is key

Find out more

What is it?

Project: 20/21 is 60 schools across England looking to make sustainable, measurable improvements to their PE, sport and physical activity provision in the 2020/21 academic year.

The project focusses on supporting school staff to deliver and assess their own PE curriculum, engage every child in 30 minutes of physical activity each day and support leaders in ensuring delivery of an engaging, progressive and compliant curriculum…. whilst reducing costs!

How does it work?

By only working with 60 schools, we can guarantee each and every school the required level of support to make their PE, sport and activity provision fully sustainable by Summer 2021.

We'll provide you with all systems required to plan and deliver your own PE Curriculum and support staff, both on-site and remotely, to ensure that teaching knowledge and confidence significantly improves.

Additionally, we'll work closely with the PE lead to ensure a compliant, engaging and progressive PE curriculum is in place for the school. We'll support the subject lead in all areas of their role including quality of teaching and learning, measurement of impact and funding compliance.

We'll also work with Senior Leaders and School Governors to ensure they understand their role in physical education, with a specific focus on the Leadership and Management requirements of an Ofsted inspection.

You'll have on-site support at least 8 times over the course of the academic year and unlimited phone and Skype support when needed. The project also includes 15 TLG-PE Live credits, allowing TLG-PE staff to support the PE leader by observing lessons together.

We'll also ensure 30 minutes of daily physical activity becomes a fundamental part of school life, without impacting on important curriculum time.

To do this, our team will personally mark out walking tracks, train young leaders and erect displays. We'll then monitor participation and, where needed, make improvements and amendments to ensure delivery on agreed expectations.

Which Schools would Project: 20/21 benefit?

Project: 20/21 is specifically aimed at schools wanting to reduce costs and improve the quality, measurement and compliance of their PE, Sport and Activity provision.

The project will allow you (depending on your current usage) to significantly reduce or totally remove the need for external coaching companies to support the delivery of primary physical education.

Schools that may have become too reliant on external coaching companies, or have not seen the expected improvement in teacher knowledge and confidence from employing external coaching companies, would benefit from the project. Additionally, schools planning for a potential reduction or removal of the PE & Sport Premium Funding, may decide that now is the time to move towards a more sustainable approach.

Fundamentally, Project: 20/21 is aimed at improving staff knowledge, confidence and enjoyment of the subject whilst providing key impact evidence and improving school budgets. What's not to love about that?

How much does it cost?

Since its inception, the PE & Sport Premium Funding has provided £1.2 billion to Primary Schools.

A new report on The Primary PE & Sport Funding by THE ALL-PARTY PARLIAMENTARY GROUP ON A FIT AND HEALTHY CHILDHOOD found that 80% of schools nationally were spending money on sports coaches.

Schools hiring a coach for one day per week would expect to see an annual cost of around £5000.

Project: 20/21 costs £3,750 for the academic year.

The fee is payable in September 2020, or schools can choose to be invoices half termly at £750 per half term.

Schools paying for the project in full receive 1 half term free of charge.

There are no hidden costs. This is the total amount payable for everything included in the project.
